Hi there! Welcome to SDU!

When it comes to the health and mental advantages of practicing yoga, our goal is to inspire and heighten the students attending the University of Southern Denmark’s awareness of this. We offer a safe space with lots of activities and a calm sanctuary where you can let go of the day’s hardships and hectic schedule while meeting students from other faculties and connect not only with them but yourself as well, physically and mentally. So, if this sounds like something for you, we’d love for you to be part of our club!

Grotten, the place where we practice yoga, can be found at: (insert location at SDU maps: Træningssal Grotten, Ø4-306-0, SDU Odense).

Our membership

At the beginning of every semester, we host free trial lessons where you can figure out if yoga is something you would benefit from. Have you already tried this? That’s great! Then you’ll be pleased to know a semester filled with yoga costs 300 kr., a sum you pay at the start of the semester and before our welcome event. However, if you weren’t able to join our free trial classes but would still like to give yoga a try, then there is the option of dropping in for only 50 kr!

We use the Danish site NemTilmeld and encourage you to press the links of those when you drop in for our classes and/or participate in our events scattered around the semester.

The type of classes and events we offer

Weekly: Every Tuesday from 5.30-6.30 PM our instructors will take turns in guiding us through different parts of yoga. The door locks when we close it, so we do encourage everyone, who are able to do so, to stop by at 5.00 pm for tea, snacks and having a nice time with students from other faculties. Who knows? Perhaps you’ll meet a new friend!

Special event: If you just can’t get enough of the hourly yoga sessions on Tuesday, then we offer special events with a member discount (depending on the activity). These events are of course open for everyone, but are primarily targeted for those who would enjoy getting to know other members in the club and we say this because there are limited amounts of places available for some of the activities and also because it allows us to get to know each other better.

Glosses:

Here you have some of the common words we use during during the lecture. The instructor will use a mix of english and danish during the weekly yoga but it never hurts to learn a few new words!
